I don’t know about you, but I am incredibly prone to “startitis.” You knitters probably understand what that is. You get close to finishing a project and your brain starts working in overdrive, thinking of all the lovely, wonderful things you could make next. You want to knit ALL THE THINGS. And you want to buy ALL THE YARN. I find that socks and mittens are especially notorious for this. There are TWO of them. Sometimes I finish one sock and think: Ok, I am so done with this pattern. I always come back to them eventually, but sometimes it takes…well, awhile. I have a nagging feeling that this is in some way related to my real–life fear of commitment. But maybe I’m just projecting a little.
Because of my startitis, I always have at least 2, more likely 3 projects on the needles at any given time. This morning I felt that familiar tingling feeling and heard that little voice in my head that seemed to be saying, “Hey. You. Remember that OH-SO-CUTE hedgehog charted pattern you saw on Ravelry awhile back? Don’t you think now is the time to start figuring out how to modify it into a hat? Don’t ya? Come on. Do it. DO IT.” And considering that all (ALL) of my willpower is currently being channeled into not caving and watching spoilers for the last few episodes of this season of Castle (trust me, it’s a concerted effort-thank you Musketeers, you know who you are-and it is taking every single ounce of self-restraint I have), I decided to give in to that voice and cast on a new project.
So for now, I’m putting these projects aside:
And I’ve started a hat that will use this hedgehog pattern:
HOW CUTE IS THAT?!? More pictures will follow when I’m further along.
Thank you so much, Julie, for charting the pattern for us, and for making it free to download. Here’s the ravelry link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hedgehog-love-scarf
